Camp Guest Artists
Amy Likar, flute and piccolo, is a San Francisco Bay Area based performing and teaching artist. Equally at home in an orchestra, as a chamber musician or as a soloist, Amy is also a passionate and committed teacher of all ages. As member of the Oakland Symphony, she is committed to the symphony’s mission of classical music for all and mentors for their Music for Excellence Program and advocates for music education on a regular basis.
For almost twenty years she has been an innovator and educator for musicians’ wellness as a teacher of Body Mapping and the Alexander Technique. She is the Director of Training for Andover Educators, a not for profit organization of music educators committed to saving, securing, and enhancing musical careers by providing accurate information about the body in movement.
Amy has been a soloist and guest artist at colleges and universities throughout the United States and Europe and a frequent performer and presenter at conferences and conventions throughout the world.
Amy Likar has been a Powell player for 23 years and is pleased to be a Powell Performing Artist.
Dr. Jenna Daum is the Acting Second Flute of The Phoenix Symphony (since 2011) and the Adjunct Professor of Flute at Grand Canyon University (since 2017). An experienced and engaging teacher, Jenna has been a Faculty Associate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Arizona State University and the Director and Founder of the Arizona State University Community Flute Ensemble. Jenna holds her Bachelor of Music with Highest Honors from the University of Illinois, and Masters in Music and Doctorate in Music from Arizona State University.
Jenna has performed with many orchestras around the country including: Arizona Musicfest Festival Orchestra, Colorado Music Festival Orchestra (Boulder,CO), Symphony of the Southwest, Chandler Symphony, Pierre Monteux School Orchestra (Hancock, Maine), the Brevard Music Center Orchestra (Brevard, NC) and St. Louis Philharmonic.
As a soloist, Jenna has been the winner of the Mu Phi Epsilon Phoenix Chapter Solo Competition, Flute Society of St. Louis Competition, Mary Payne Solo Competition, and the prestigious Thomas Smith Competition at the University of Illinois. When not driving her cat Minka, dog Elliot, and husband, trumpet player Derek Sanchez, crazy with the endless sound of the flute and piccolo, Jenna enjoys vegetable gardening, baking, yoga, and any activity involving the outdoors.
